GETTING TO THE ZOO

Ohrada Zoo can be found near Hluboká nad Vltavou, a town that is among the major tourism centres in the south of the Czech Republic. České Budějovice, which is the capital of the region, lies only 8 km away.
The zoo can be reached very easily by train, bus, car, bike, and by walk. Travelling by train: Leave your train either at ‘Hluboká nad Vltavou' or ‘Hluboká nad Vltavou-Zámostí' stations, then walk by foot follow the local signs. Traveling by bus: Use either an intercity transport line or the IDS line No. 104 from České Budějovice. Step off the bus at the ‘Hluboká nad Vltavou, Lovecký zámek, rozcestí k ZOO' stop. Going by car: Follow the signs, direction Hluboká nad Vltavou; please, be sure not to miss the follow the brown ‘Zoo Ohrada' signs. When a biker: Take the bike road from České Budějovice.

VISITOR REGULATIONS
|
|
- To protect your own safety when roaming around the zoo, be sure to move in the public areas only.
- DO NOT hang over the rails and barriers, nor place on them any children.
- Children under 10 must be accompanied by a person above 15 when entering the zoo.
- DO NOT enter with dogs (except guide dogs), cats or any other animal.
- DO NOT enter the zoo premises by bike or any other means of transportation like roller-skates, skateboard, etc.
- Every animal at the zoo is kept under a specialist care; feeding, disturbing, or teasing is not allowed.
- Before entering the zoo, be sure that any your musical device is turned off. Also, DO NOT shout loud or make any similar noise.
- Plucking and picking any plants and breaking any full-grown vegetation is strictly prohibited.
- The animals have their daily routine. Please, DO NOT make them active by teasing. If you really want to see them active, why not visiting our zoo at different daytimes.
- Please, follow instructions and advices of the staff.
- The zoo keepers will be pleased to reply any of your queries.
- Should you have any wish or comments, please, feel free to pass them to the zoo office. It is also the place to report any lost and found property or seek first aid assistance.

THE ZOO RESTAURANT
|
|
In the rear part of the zoo, a new restaurant with unconventional design and a large sea aquarium opened in 2007 is waiting for you. Besides the zoo visitors, it can be accessed by guests from the outside as well.
