Programs for Schools

To all grades of basic schools we offer, for the price of a ticket to the zoo, supplement to their lessons of natural science and biology in our classroom within the grounds of the zoo, with our or external specialised worker.

For kinder-gardens, 1st to 3rd year primary schools we offer to visit your school, by an employee from our zoo, who will give a special talk on animals, and give the children their first introduction to animals and tell them the importance that zoological gardens have today. It will offer them first meeting with a living animal, including educational games - learning about animals.

Together in co-operation with the Czech Foundation for Otters in Trebon, we provide an educational programme "Otter", with its help, the children and students can look into the life of river otter. The lecture is supplemented with many interesting slides and they will learn about the details of their biology, their endangerment and its protection. In connection with the lecture a study of their exhibition in the zoo follows, where the children can, watch the otters in their natural behaviour - swimming, feeding, playing and resting with a commentary from a zoo employee.
