... news from our zoo

From December 2006 School's educational programmes will be held in new premises of the Educational Centre, which has been built with the help of financial aid received from the Ministry of Environment and South Bohemian County Council.

Newly opend exhibition (27.5. 2006):

grounds for the owls

In the new walkthrough aviary, you can personally get acquainted with several types of water fowl.

The walkthrough aviary is really walkthrough. Therefore, do not hesitate and open the door and walk in. You will find yourself amongst the birds under one roof. It is a real experience.

In 2005  we built a small playground for children with a slide and a climbing frame in premises of Zoo. Come and see!

The walkthrough aviary for forest birds from middle Europe is nearly finished.

This is the way the new home for the bears will look.

And it is also taking shape in the reality.

We exchanged the old and unsatisfactory aviary for birds of prey for a new and beautiful one. Our new wards – vultures scavenging – enjoy it happily.

The Pink Flamingos like it here very much. Majority of the breeding pairs build a nest every year, and bring up off springs the natural way.

„… sss … sss … don’t be afraid of us… sss … sss …“ from June 2004 you will see common adder in our new exhibition.

Information voice panels

The present information system has been extended by further two voice panels.  The first voice panel welcomes the visitors at the entrance to the zoological garden and introduces them to the present ZOO.  The second panel is positioned by the enclosure of Red-necked Wallaby kangaroos, which tells the visitor interesting information about the Australian nature.

This project has been created with the financial help of the South Bohemian County Council

We continually try to improve our services to the handicapped visitors.  In 2003 year we prepared 2 projects which we aimed at contact elements for visually handicapped visitors.
